Gardens

I love all gardens.  The best part is the welcoming solitude, the spots where you can let your stresses go and just let your thoughts drift while listening to the soft noises of wind and grass.  I call my backyard a secret garden, as it is tiny, with high walls covered with various climbing dark green vines and bushes.  It's the best place I know of to relax after a long day. In a garden, I enjoy smelling fresh rainfall and the chance to see flowers I don't know the name of yet.   That will be the point of this blog: I want to learn as much as I can about plants, flowers, landscaping, and care for all of it.

My sister pointed out Lantana, which is a small shrub with colorful flower clusters, growing near our house the other day, and asked me, "what does the smell of this flower remind you of?".  "France", I answered immediately.  She smiled, also remembering the house and gardens during that month us lucky girls got to spend when we were kids in Nice.  "Isn't it crazy we can have the same memory?".   I am excited to continue discovering and creating memories in new, beautiful and unique environments.
